Complete from anywhere

Your crew changes.
Their access should too.

Add crew before they arrive. Revoke access the moment they leave. Set an expiry date and forget about it. BlinkYacht's user management works from your phone, your laptop, or anywhere in the world — without you needing to be on the boat.

"We sold the yacht in March. In October, the new owner called us — our former captain was still operating the passerelle with the old app. There was absolutely no mechanism to stop it."
— Previous owner, 22m motor yacht, Porto Cervo
How it works

Three ways to manage access. All from your phone.

Whether you're at the vessel, across the marina, or on another continent — the right level of access is always available.

📱
Direct from the app — when you're at the vessel

Open the BlinkYacht app within BLE range, enter owner mode, and add or remove users directly. The credential is written to the controller immediately. No internet required — everything happens over the BLE connection between your phone and the controller.

🌐
Via the owner portal — from anywhere

Log in at airlens.ie from any browser. Create users, set expiry dates and send a provisioning link. The credential is stored on our backend and pushed to the controller the next time any phone with the app connects within BLE range. You never need to be present.

🔗
Self-service provisioning link — for crew and guests

Send a single-use link by WhatsApp, email or SMS. The crew member opens it on their phone, confirms they're standing at the vessel, and taps once to provision the BlinkYacht app automatically. The link expires after use. Physical proximity at the stern is enforced — the BLE range of ~10m is an implicit security layer.

    Security architecture

Why this is meaningfully more secure than a fob.

Every design decision starts from the assumption that access must be revocable at any moment by the owner. Not as a feature — as a fundamental constraint.

    🔑
    The device is the authority
All credential validation happens on the controller — never on our servers. There is no network stack on the device. A man-in-the-middle attack between your phone and our backend cannot grant access to the hardware.
    🔒
We never know the owner key
The admin key is set by the owner directly on the controller over BLE. It is stored in NVM on the device and is never transmitted to our backend. Even if our servers were compromised, there is no owner key to steal.
    Time-bounded by design
Every credential carries an expiry timestamp that is validated on the device at authentication time. The device checks the time independently. Expiry cannot be bypassed by intercepting app traffic or manipulating backend data.
    📍
    Proximity enforced
BLE range is approximately 10 metres. Provisioning a new user requires physically standing at the vessel stern. A credential link sent by email cannot be used from another country — the recipient must be present at the boat.
    🎫
    Single-use provisioning tokens
Every provisioning link is a one-time token tied to a specific vessel and user. Once tapped, the token is consumed atomically on the server. Forwarding the link to someone else after use has no effect.
    🚫
    Platform access is separate
Bathing platform access is a separate per-user permission, always false for backend-enrolled users unless explicitly granted. A charter crew member provisioned via link can never access the platform unless the owner specifically permits it.
